The British Orthopaedic Trainees Association (BOTA) and the British Orthopaedic Medical Students Association (BOMSA) are excited to announce and open bookings for our National Medical Student Course 2022!

This national pre-congress course has been designed in collaboration with BOMSA to teach basic orthopaedic practical skills and core knowledge to those interested in a career in orthopaedics. We will be delivering a dynamic, hands-on day with a morning of short career-focussed talks, portfolio workshops and teaching focussing on x-ray interpretation and basic fracture management. The afternoon will allow delegates the opportunity to get comfortable with orthopaedic practical skills using dry sawbone and bone cementing kits in a low-stress environment under close supervision from course faculty, including orthopaedic trainees and consultants. There will also be an opportunity to hone your suturing skills and so when you get into theatre your knowledge and skills can shine!

Attending this course is also an excellent way to demonstrate commitment to the speciality for both CST and ST3 applications.
